Discover's Discover® More(SM) Card – Clear is fitting for
those with very good credit who want a cash reward credit
card.
Through this card's reward program, cardholders
are able to earn a 5% Cashback Bonus® in categories such as
travel, gas, restaurants, movies, and more. Up to 1% can also be
earned on general purchases and .25% for purchases made at select
warehouse clubs and discount stores.
The way rebates
can be earned is quite simple. Those who spend up to $1,500 on
general purchases will receive a .25% rebate. If a cardholder
spends between $1,500 and $3,000, a .5% rebate will be earned. Any
general purchase expense yields a 1% rebate to the
cardholder.*
As an added bonus, cardholders can earn up
to a double Cashback Bonus® when they redeem their rebates for
gift certificates from participating Discover® Card Partners.
What's more is that with the Discover® More(SM) Card –
Clear, there is no annual cap on the amount of rebates that can be
earned. As long as the account is active during a 36-month period,
rebates will not expire.
What makes this card even more
attractive is that there is no annual fee and a 0% introductory
rate on purchases for six months. Balance transfers will be covered
by a 0% introductory rate for twelve months. After the introductory
rate expires, the APR for purchases with this card is reasonable
for those who qualify.
Platinum style benefits that are
provided with this card include travel accident insurance, auto
rental insurance, and fraud protection services. Cardholders will
also have access to discounts on products and services at
participating merchants and retailers.
With the
Discover® More(SM) Card – Clear, those who plan on
spending at least $3,000 per year and who plan on taking advantage
of the Cashback Bonus® reward program will find this card to be
the most beneficial.
*It is important to note that like
many cash reward cards, the highest rebate offered will not apply
to all purchases made with the credit card. In this case, 1% will
be applied only to those purchases made after the cardholder spends
over $3,000 in one year, so the overall cash rebate earned will be
less than 1%, depending on the amount spent. For instance, if the
cardholder were to spend $4,000, only $1,000 of this amount would
be applied towards the 1% rebate. However, this does not take into
account any promotional offers or the full 5% Cashback Bonus®
award.
